Consumer Centric Understanding

Great post by Gary Bembridge over at Unleashed on Marketing – reviews a presentation by Simon Thompson who is the marketing head for lastminute.com.

One of the key points is that the “new world” of marketing requires a customer centric understanding.  Customers will get information and make purchase decisions the way they want – and if you don’t understand it – you will be left out of the loop.  Marketers need to understand the underlying customer motivations, drivers and language if they hope to connect with them.
